Drawing inspiration from her many travels around the globe, Malene Birger imbues her multidisciplinary designs with her innate sense of relaxed elegance. Created in her studios in Mallorca and Skyros, she balances historical and cultural influences that span the ancient Middle East to 1970s-inspired futuristic silhouettes to modern architecture. Her works of art are driven by imagination and invention, combining time-honored artisanal techniques with distinctly modern forms and profiling unexpected contrasts and combinations.

Masterfully marrying the old with the new, her self-assured hand sketches, paints and shapes pieces from clay that juxtapose simple proportions and material combinations that are equal parts contemporary and idiosyncratic.
